Brits are heading out to buy teeth whitening treatments ahead of Valentine’s day.
Sales of teeth whitening kits have gone up in the UK ahead of Valentine’s Day, according to Comet.
The retailer noted there was a 200 per cent increase in sales for its take-home teeth whitening kits in January in comparison to the previous month.
Bill Moir, Comet’s head of marketing said: “At the start of the recession, we saw an uplift in home cooking as bread maker sales rose by 57 per cent, now home beautifying seems to be the next big thing.”
He added that Brits are also splashing out on gym memberships and home gym equipment in a bid to get buff ahead of Valentine’s Day.
Elsewhere, Big News recently reported teeth whitening can be achieved through a number of different methods, but the best results are often gained through seeing a dentist.
The publication claimed take-home kits will often contain harmful chemicals and therefore it may be more prudent to have this treatment carried out by a trained profession.
