Align Technology has launched a new range of Invisalign features – and they give more confidence to doctors using them in clinical settings.
This is according to the manufacturer, which said the features will provide better results in procedures such as teeth rotation, root movements and interproximal reduction.
Optimised attachments will now be custom-designed to be patient-specific and therefore increase predictability.
Power Ridges, which used to only be available with Invisalign Teen, will be an alternative option for attachments where additional force is needed.
Also among the new features is Velocity Optimisation, to give more control to the entire tooth and root.
Vice president, marketing and chief marketing officer of Align Technology Sheila Tan said the developments were based on results of extensive customer research.
"We believe that these improvements will give doctors greater confidence in what they can achieve with Invisalign and help deliver the outcomes doctors expect in more clinical applications," she added.
One person reported to have used Invisalign braces is Danielle Bux, who married Gary Lineker in recent weeks.
Reports state she wanted to straighten her smile and also opted for tooth whitening.
