Amy Winehouse is reported to have spent the past few weeks getting emergency dentistry in London.
The Sun reported how she had to undergo reconstructive procedures such as fillings and extractions on her teeth.
Winehouse is known for her dramatic image and, as a celebrity, dental work could be considered one of the most important things to get right in front of the camera.
A source is said to have told the newspaper that the singer’s teeth were "gross".
"They were brown and stained and needed major work on them and she was determined to get them back to their sparkling best."
A dental implant may be on the cards for Winehouse if she opts for one to replace a tooth that is missing. The gap is often seen in photographs.
However, her friends and family are likely to be hoping she does not fall into the same trap of recently hospitalised celebrity Mischa Barton.
Speaking on US TV programme The View, she said how surgery for her wisdom teeth went wrong and left her in "excruciating pain".
