After extraction advice for Brits

Pearl Dental Clinic
News Categories

Following a wisdom tooth extraction Brits may find it difficult to eat and therefore they have been offered some advice on what and what not to chew down on.

Esther Sung wrote in her blog for EpiLog that following a trip to the emergency dentist to have her wisdom teeth removed, the only foods she was able to eat were those which were soft – such as soup, smoothies, mashed potato and extremely ripe bananas.

She wrote: "The oral surgeon suggested tiramisu and a colleague mentioned flan, but what I could really go for right now is a juicy, ripe apple."

Ms Sung noted that it was the foods that would invariably cause her pain that she craved the most; possibly because she knew she could not have them.

Meanwhile, Dahlia McDaniel, a dental health expert, recently noted that people looking to keep their teeth in the best possible health should remember to brush regularly with a soft-bristled toothbrush.

In addition, daily flossing can help remove food and plaque that would otherwise remain.
