People living in London who have deteriorating teeth might want to consider dental implants after hearing the following comments.
Although dentures can look acceptable, they are often uncomfortable, explained Dr P Tehranian from Lane Ends Aesthetic & Implant Centre in Preston.
This, he added, can lead to difficulty eating, talking or feeling confident.
In the past, people may have been put off dental implants because of the time they take and the costs involved, Dr Tehranian noted.
However, he asserted this no longer has to be the case.
"Implant-supported replacement teeth are permanent, better looking and unlike previous implant options, take only a few days to complete," the dentist said.
Meanwhile, a report by Markets and Markets estimated the global oral health industry will be worth some $26 billion (£16 billion) by 2014.
The research put the growth down to the increasing popularity of cosmetic dentistry procedures. It also added the sector’s performance was due to advancements in technology for oral health treatments.
