Dentists have spoken out to criticise Kanye West's recent revelation that he has replaced his bottom teeth with diamonds through cosmetic dentistry.
The rapper said on Ellen De Generes' TV show this week that he had had the work done because he wanted to look cool but didn't want to keep having to take the teeth out all the time.
He also insisted that the precious stones were set on permanent dental implants.
However, Dr Timothy Chase warned anyone intending to do the same that diamonds are very hard and should not be used on the biting side of a tooth, the New York Daily News reports.
Another dentist from California told the Los Angeles Times that West may struggle with oral hygiene and chewing, as well as potentially developing problems with his jaw and upper teeth.
"It will wear the top part of the teeth faster. In five to seven to ten years, he'll have damage on his upper teeth," the expert warned.
