Bridging Teeth
If teeth have been lost naturally, professionally extracted, or are due to be removed then a patient may want to find out more about the process of bridging teeth. There are a number of different bridges available to suit different needs and circumstances. Bridges can be attached to existing teeth, or dental implant screws can be fitted which the bridge is then attached to afterward.
Traditional Bridges
Dental bridges are used to ‘bridge the gap’ between teeth. Traditional bridges fit onto the existing teeth in the mouth. The bridge is placed over the teeth either side of the gap. Once fitted they close the gap in a natural looking way. Most dental bridges are bonded in place making them a permanent fixture in the mouth. Alternatively, there are removable bridges that are bonded in place by the wearer.
Dental Implant Bridge
If there are a number of teeth missing then a dental implant bridge may be the best option. Titanium metal screws are inserted into the gum and jaw line. Once the screws are attached the dental bridge can be fitted over the top. The implant bridge will function like the natural teeth would. They also look extremely realistic so no one will be able to see that they are not your own teeth.
