Implant Case 1A. Missing Front tooth
This patient presented with a missing front tooth which he wanted to replace with a dental implant. |
We placed an implant and a gold abutment on top of it.
Here you can see the gold implant abutment. |
The abutment acts as the link between the implant and the implant crown. |
We then restored the implant with a temporary crown and allowed time for gum contouring. |
The implant crown can be seen from above, sitting in harmony with the rest of the teeth in the jaw. |
Finally The definitive implant crown is bonded to the implant abutment.
Please note the natural looking gum margin around the implant crown.
Implant Case 1E. Missing lower front teeth
This patient presented having lost his four front lower teeth.
We decided to place two dental implants and a four unit bridge to replace the lost teeth. |
Our planning model shows where we planned to place the four front teeth. |
We placed two Straumann dental implants in the jaw and placed a four unit ceramic bridge on top of those implants. |
This is the final X-ray showing perfect bone and dental implant integration.
The bridge fits snugly on the two implants below. |
Implant Case 1F. Missing front tooth
This patient had lost her two upper first premolars. She wanted them replaced with two implants and also wanted a smile makeover for the rest of her teeth. |
We first planned where the tooth should be placed with a trial smile.
The patient gave the go ahead once he saw the trial smile. |
Here you can see the final crown held in by the dental implant in the jaw. |
Implant Case 1G. Missing premolars
This patient had lost her two upper first premolars. She wanted them replaced with two implants and also wanted a smile makeover for the rest of her teeth. |
We placed two straumann implants in the upper premolar region. |
The implants were left to heal within the bone for 8 weeks, |
The patient wanted her upper front teeth improved in shape and shade. |
Once the implants had healed, we placed two Emax veneers and four Emax crowns on the upper front six teeth.
We also re-root treated the front incisor. |
The two Straumann dental implants were restored with two Emax all ceramic crowns. |
The implant crowns blend well with her other crowns and veneers. |
The patient now has no gaps on her upper jaw. |
Implant Case 1H. Dental Implants after Bone Augmentation
This patient lost his front four teeth through gum disease.
Due to the bone loss caused by gum disease, we carried out block Bone augmentation using human bone from the tissue bank, six months previously.
For Dental Implants to be placed, he needed block bone grafting to supplement his current bone level. |
We placed four Straumann SLActive fast healing implants and checked their final position.
The X-ray shows four implants placed in the ideal position.
The Final Crowns can be placed in around 8 weeks once bone-implant integration has taken place. |
8 Weeks Later ...
After 8 weeks, implant and bone integration has occurred and at this point the temporary abutments can be attached to the implants. |
The temporary abutments are screwed onto the implants below. |
Temporary crowns are then cemented to the temporary abutments below them. |
The purpose of the temporary crowns is to encourage the gum to take shape around the temporary crowns and create the normal knife edge gum shape between the crowns.
This process takes ~2 months. |
8 Weeks Later ...
The final implant titanium abutment positions are planned on models. |
These abutments will be placed on the implants in the mouth. |
The final implant crowns are positioned on the model. |
The implant crowns can be seen before cementation in the mouth. |
The permanent titanium abutments are screwed onto the implants below and sealed. |
The final implant crowns are cemented to the abutments. |
The patient now has four newly restored dental implants. |
Implant Case 1I. Missing front tooth
This patient presented with a missing front tooth which she wanted to replace with an implant. |
We placed a Straumann SLActive implant in the gap.
Here you can see the implant placed in the missing tooth gap. |
The implant can now be seen from above buried in the bone. |
We placed a temporary crown to encourage gum contouring. |
The final crown was then placed with a well contoured gum margin around the implant crown. |
Implant Case1J. Single unit Implant crown
Eight weeks after his implant placement, the patient presents for his implant crown impressions.
An impression post is placed onto the implant for the impression stage.
Shade A3 is chosen by the patient. |
An X-ray is taken to show location of the implant and correct placement of the impression post. |
The crown is produced by the lab and we attach it to the implant. |
The gum will re-grow between the teeth over the next few weeks. |
