    Smile Peg tooth

My 19 year old daughter has a peg tooth at the front of her mouth. The rest of her teeth look good, so its such a shame. My husband also has a peg tooth.

Can anything long term be done to improve the appearance? Our family dentist said while she was growing up that it was too soon to do anything. Is now a good time or should she still wait?

    Default Peg tooth

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

There is evidence to indicate that the peg shaped front teeth specially in the top has a genetic factor and that is why probably your daughter like your husband has these teeth. The simplest way of fixing this problem is usually by means of veneers, either composite or porcelain veneers, depending on the case.
We would be very happy to see both your daughter and your husband and assess their teeth and give them the treatment options and no your daughter is not too young and she is the right age.
