    Default Veneers, disclouration at edges

I have veneers on my two front teeth - my teeth were discoloured after an accident as a child. I also have a retainer behind the teeth following straightening- I had a brace 10 years ago.

I have brown bits at the edge of the veneers, and between them that wont come off. What can I do about it?
Im also wondering if its a bad idea to keep the retainer behind the teeth and this might be why I have the problem, but worried that if I remove the retainer, my teeth might go crooked again

    Thanks!

    Thank you for your post.

I think it would be a good idea to see an orthodontist to see if you still need to have a wire retainer stuck behind your teeth. The wire retainer makes running a floss between teeth difficult and so it can be more difficult to clean teeth that have a wire retainer.

The orthodontist may now suggest that a removable retainer would be a better solution and could help you to clean around your teeth and veneers more effectively.

If a veneer is stained and the stains cant be removed with normal hygiene and stain removing procedures, then unfortunately you may have to look at changing the porcelain veneers.
