Thumbs up My front teeth are large

    Hi

My two front teeth are large and stand out when I smile. I have always wanted them to be smaller and a bit more in proportion with my other teeth. I have looked at porcelain veneers and Lumineers but I don't know how many veneers I would need for my front teeth to look better.

Other than dental veneers do I have any other options for these large front teeth? I have also looked at composite veneers but my understanding is that they dont last as long as porcelain veneers. Is that right? How many veneers do you think I will need on my front teeth for them to look much better.

Default My front teeth are large

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

In dentistry it is always easier to make smaller teeth larger in size than to make them smaller. The only way to make your teeth smaller is reducing the size of them which can causes gaps between your teeth which very likely is not desirable.

In a lot of cases the front teeth may appear large in size because of the smaller teeth next to them, thus giving the perception that the front teeth are big. In these cases then by making the size of the adjacent teeth bigger the front teeth appear the normal size and this may be what is needed in your case.

My suggestion would be for you to come and see us and to let us examine and assess your teeth and see how we can correct the problem in your case.
Composite veneers can also last as long as porcelain veneers but the major difference is that they will stain over the years were as porcelain veneers do not stain. But composite veneers amy not always be suitable and they have their limits in their use and usually do not look as good as porcelain veneers.
