Red face After pregnancy my teeth are breaking down

    Hi

I gave birth to my daughter in June and when I was pregnant with her, my gums used to bleed and my teeth had become sensitive. Now that she is born and I am breast feeding her, my teeth are breaking down one by one.

So far over the last 2 months, two of my teeth have chipped already and I am worried that the rest of my teeth are going to break down.

Could you tell me, if I have veneers placed on my teeth could they strengthen my teeth and make them less brittle and last longer? Could I have dental veneer treatment when I am breast feeding?

Default After pregnancy my teeth are breaking down

    Hi,

    Thank you for question.

You can have veneers when you are breast feeding and there is no problem there. However veneers do not make your teeth stronger and they are not a solution for after pregnancy teeth chipping off or breaking down.
There must be another reason for this happening to your teeth and that has to be identified. One of the most commonest causes of teeth braking down is grinding teeth at night or bruxism which is stress related and may be cause specially after having a baby which we know is not stress free.

There may also be due to some nutrient deficiencies but these days these are not very common but can be investigated.
