    Red face Veneer gum line

    Hi

I would like to have a eight emax veneers put on my top front teeth. I have seen pictures of emax veneers and I am very impressed by them and I think they will make my teeth look great.

At the moment, the gum line around my top front teeth is very uneven and the gum line around some teeth is further down than around some other teeth where the gum line is higher up.

I would like to know if I have veneers would I be able to select my own preferred veneer gum line at the level that I like or do I have to accept the current tooth gum line around my teeth for my dental veneers as well?

    Default Veneer gum line

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

No you do not need to accept the present level of you gingivae and its uneven gum line as your veneer gum line. What we would be able to do is to do crown lengthening by means of removing some bone from around the root of the teeth.

It is the bone level underneath the gum that determines the level of the gum. If gum is uneven then it means the bone level is uneven. This can be corrected by surgery which is of minor form and achieve excellent aesthetic result one he bone level is corrected and your veneers are cemented in.
