Can crowns and veneer be placed next to each other?

Hi

I have two front crowns and my remaining natural teeth around these crowns are all very discoloured teeth. I would like to have a smile makeover and have perhaps eight veneers placed with two new cosmetic crowns next to the dental veneers.

I would like to know if crowns and veneers can be placed next to each other? Is it possible to make the crowns look the same as the veneers or will one of them stand out?

If it is possible to mix crowns and veneers, should they all be done at once, or will one of them need to be done before the other? What will I have on my teeth whilst the crowns and veneers are made? How long will the treatment take to complete?

Thank you for your post. Crowns and veneers can be made from the same outer materials and can be placed next to each other. To make them match each other well in terms of shade, they should be done all at the same time if possible.

Ideally a cosmetic lab shade take should be done as it would provide the best shade match for the veneers and crowns. This way, you would have the best chance of getting the shade right.
