I would like to have eight Lumineers placed on my teeth and I have been looking at different types of smile design available for my front teeth.

I would like to know who determines the shape and size of my Veneers? Can I put my own input into my smile design or is it purely determined by the dentist?

Thank you for your post. Smile design is a big factor in designing a new smile and there are many different designs that can be used. Many patients bring designs of celebrities teeth to us and where possible we try to replicate the design on their teeth.

Its worth noting that smile design is influenced by the occlusion of the teeth and the space available and the size and shape of the teeth. There are certain rules of proportions that must be respected for good aesthetic results.

We try to get our patients involved as much as possible in their smile design by carrying out a trial smile. With a trial smile, the patient can have input their smile design and can see beforehand how their smile could look with Lumineer or dental Veneers.

Well made temporary veneers based on the trial smile can also help the patient evaluate their smile design before the final veneers are made.
