    Exclamation Empress Veneers

    Hi

I had four Empress veneers placed on my top four front teeth last year. My front tooth Empress veneer chipped last week and now the corner of the tooth looks very strange and a little bit sharp.

I would like to have my broken Empress veneer removed and a new Empress Veneer placed. Do you provide Empress Veneers and if so, how much would it cost to have my broken veneer replaced?

    Lightbulb Empress Veneers

    Hi,

    Thank you for your post.

Sorry to hear about your veneer. Empress Veneers are a form of porcelain veneer. You have 3 options to correct this problem.

First option is to try to repair the veneer. There are some techniques that allow us to repair porcelain veneers directly in the mouth. But they do not tend to last long and they are more of short to middle term solution. This is because porcelain is repaired with composite material and the bond between the two is not strong. Also aesthetically it can be difficult to match the colour as they are two different materials.

The second option is replacing the broken veneer which at Perl Dental Clinic will cost £495 (there is some small additional fee for laboratory shade taking but is not much). This is not as easy as one might think because it is very difficult to match the shade and colour of 1 veneer to the rest of them. It is not impossible but it has to be done by people that know what they are doing and use the best labs and technicians for that. I am pleased to tell you that we do offer this service in our practice. There is, however, a little bit of problem and that is we do not use Empress veneers in our practice!? but we can offer alternative options.

The third option which will give you the best aesthetic result is to replace all of the veneers. But as we know this is the most expensive option and it is not advisable in every case. What you really need to come and see us for an assessment to see what would be the option.
