    Default No-prep veneers

Hi, I have nicely shaped white teeth but unfortunately I have brown and yellow staining inbetween my teeth and by the gumline caused by demineralisation - I've tried pretty much everything to remove the stains and my dentist says the only other thing that can be done is drilling the areas and placing composite fillings (I would end up with about 20+ fillings!) and he is not willing to do this anyway.

I don't want to resort to something which will remove healthy enamel from my teeth - does compoite bonding do this? I would consider Durathin if they are possible for me, but I wondered can they be made to the same shape as my natural teeth? I have quite small, rounded lateral incisors and I think they look quite youthful, I dont really want them to be the same length! I'm not after a perfect hollywood smile, just my natural smile back.
    Regards

Thank you for your post. With composite bonding it is possible to add composite to tooth tissue to hide enamel discolourations without tooth shaving, however this will add extra bulk to the tooth which in some cases it is acceptable and in others, it could make the teeth too bulky.

Durathin veneers can also be used and they need no tooth preparation but again, if no tooth shaving is carried out, in some cases the final results will look bulky. So really you need a consultation, for us to see if no-prep composite bonding or no prep Durathin veneers will work in your case.
