Hi, can I jump in here? I have read about lumineers, as for the healthy side, would lumineers demage my good enamel when removed? Can I ever restore my good enamel? I can compare lumineers with a fake nail that when removed leaves the nail in terrible condition. Am I right? Also, I won't be brushing my real teeth, so will i be more prone to tooth decay? Can i still have them cleaned by a dentist? As it is a kind of quick fix, in my case for gaps, would I still be in risk of getting jaw problems? Recently I have been unable to open my mouth wide without hearing a clicking sound, my jaws seem to be out of place somehow. Thank you very much.

In some cases, Lumineer treatment involves shaving down healthy enamel and so damages enamel irreversibly. You can not regrow enamel once its removed.

I have never had fake nails, so I cant tell you how that compares with lumineers. When lumineers are bonded to teeth, you will be brushing them rather than your teeth as they will cover the outside of your teeth. However if they are bonded well and you maintain good hygiene and diet sugar control, there should not be any problems with decay of the tooth underneath.

You can still have your teeth cleaned by a dentist once you have lumineers and its in fact imortant that you do that. If you have any TMJ jaw problems you should have that assessed and treated if necessary before having any cosmetic dental treatment.
