Stained composite veneers

Hi

I had four composite veneers put on my top front teeth about three years ago and now two of them have stained and look brown around the edges. I have asked the hygienist to remove the stains but she says that the composite veneers have physically stained and she cant remove such stains. Is there a way to have these stained composite veneers repaired or do they need to be redone? How long should composite veneers last? I expected them to last 10 years, so I am surprised why they have stained so quickly. Please advise. Thanks.

We can try to professionally polish your stained composite veneers and that may remove the stains on them. Thats usually the best thing to do first. However if that does not work, you will need to consider having them replaced. Composite bondings last on average around 3-5 years although there can be variations in this.
