    Question Do Lumineers fracture?

    Hi,

Could you tell me if lumineers are ok in comparison to veneers because a number of dental clinics have advised my that lumineers tend to fracture that is why many dental clinics do not offer them. Is this the case with lumineers?

    thanks

    Wink Do Lumineers fracture?

Many clinics do offer Lumineers and Lumineers are strong. However Lumineer/porcelain veneer fracture is based on the bite (occlusion). Veneers/Lumineers must only be placed in patient cases where the bite is favourable.

Also once the lumineers/veneers are placed, the bite needs to be adjusted so that there are light bite forces against the veneers/lumineers in different bite directions. If there are heavy bite forces against any veneer/lumineer it will fracture regardless of the brand of veneer used.
