    Default Lumineers and Crowns

    Hi there

I have crowns over broken front teeth which i've had now for 20 years. My dentist has said they're in good condition and doesn't see any need to change them for the forseable future. My gum line has however receded slightly after i had an abcess and i now have a feint black line of metal showing through between my crowns and my gums, which does inhibit me from smiling. Would lumineers work in this case to cover my crowns and fill in the gap??

    Hoping so

    Thanks

    Red face Lumineers and Crowns

    Thank you for your question.

Thank you for your post. Technically Lumineers can cover up crowns to hide their metal lines and exposed margins. However from a cost point of view a metal free high strength aesthetic crown costs £545 each and a lumineer costs £495 each, so it makes more sence to replace the crowns with new all ceramic metal free crowns if you are unhappy with their aesthetics and this will last longer than a lumineer cover on a crown.
