How many tooth veneers do I need?

Hi

I have very discoloured front teeth and when I smile my front teeth are obvious and I am constantly trying to hide them. I have tried growing a beard to hide my dicoloured teeth but they still show when I am laughing.

I have seen my dentist and he says that although these teeth are discoloured due to my age, they are actually healthy and I don't have any decay or gum problems.

He made me teeth whitening trays last year and they made my teeth a little bit whiter but unfortunately the results faded after a few short months probably due to the amounts of coffee that I drink.

I would like to know, how many veneers I will need to make my smile great. I don't show much of my bottom teeth apart from their tips and I think I don't need any veneers there but I am thinking that I will need anything from 6-10 top veneers but I will appreciate if you could tell me your opinion on this.

How many veneers you should consider, depends on how many teeth you show when you smile. Some people only show their front teeth when they smile, others even show their molars when they smile.

So we would need to see your teeth to assess your smile but as a rough guide, a lot of patients have eight veneers. Having just front four veneers means that the front veneers may look different to the teeth further back and if you show your back teeth when you smile, that difference will be obvious to the eye.
