Default Is your pratice made of comstetic dentist not ordinary dentist

Hi i want to have lumineers fixed. I have been adviced to ave them fixed by a cosmetic dentist instead of an ordinary dentish as cosmetic dentist are artistic..are there cometic dentist in your practice?also i have heard complaints from friends with lumineers that they are too bulky when my teeth is examined can the dentist get a rough idea of how they will look and if they are too bulky will you do a slight preparation without damaging the undrling teeth? And the final question..apparently veneers come with a glaze which prevents it from staining does your pratice use power abrasives to remove these glazes whilst fixing the lumineers as some dentist tend to do that even though it causes staing..thank you

Red face Is your pratice made of comstetic dentist not ordinary dentist

    Thank you for your post.

Officially there is no such title as a cosmetic dentist. Most dentists do some cosmetic work, some more than others. If you are trying to decide who should do your cosmetic work, you need to go to a few consultations and meet the dentists and decide for yourself.

Also you may find it helpful to look at their previous work in their cosmetic dentistry gallery.

Using the laws of mathematics, its obvious to know that if you add a 0.4mm lumineer to a tooth without taking any tooth tissue away, that tooth is going to be 0.4mm bulkier.

Now in some cases due to the retruded position of the teeth, that extra bulk is cosmetically desireable and in other cases that look is not suitable especially if the teeth are already protruded. So in that situation, some tooth tissue removal is necessary to prevent over-bulking of the teeth.

We do not remove any veneer/lumineers glaze with our polishing pastes. As a results, the veneers/lumineers look very well glazed at the end.
