Brighten up my smile

Hi

I have two incisor teeth which are very discoloured and I find that teeth whitening just cant whiten these teeth. I have tried three and half weeks of teeth whitening to whiten them but they are still darker than my other teeth.

I have been to see my own dentist and he says that these teeth are alive but for some reason they are darker than my other teeth. He has recommended getting these teeth crowned so that they can look whiter.

I was looking at your site and thought that maybe Lumineers could brighten up my smile without the need for having crowns put on my teeth. I wish to avoid having them shaved back if that is possible.

Do you advise that I have lumineers or crowns put on my teeth and do you think that if I go for lumineers they will be able to whiten my discoloured front teeth?

Lumineers in some situations can be placed without tooth shaving but not in all situations. Veneers and Lumineers generally are much less destructive of tooth tissue compared to full coverage crowns.

Without seeing your teeth, I don't know which type of restoration would be the best solution. Lumineers are very good at hiding discolouration on tooth tissue and if teeth whitening has not worked, you may wish to consider Lumineers.
