Talking Will tooth bleaching remove the smoking stains on my teeth?

Im a smoker and have been for a long time. I feel like this has made my teeth look dull and yellow over the years . I go to see the hygienist and although the staining on my teeth comes off, the yellow teeth are still there! And of-course the stains soon come back.

Would tooth bleaching, be a more long term option for me. If so should I choose home tooth whitening, or go for zoom surgery whitening? Do you recommend the home tooth whitening kits that people can buy on the internet and from the shops.

Short of quitting smoking please tell me what i can do? Also can i enquire about the cost of hygiene visits at your practice as i need them very regularly.

    Thankyou.

Smile Will tooth bleaching remove the smoking stains on my teeth?

    Hello Kelly,

    Thank you for your post.

There are two forms of stains that form on teeth, inside and outside stains. Outside stains can be reduced by good oral hygiene and regular hygiene visits. The inside stains can only be removed with tooth bleaching. The best bleaching system for you will depend on the degree of smoking stains present. If the teeth are very yellow and look dull you should try combination teeth whitening. This involves having the zoom surgery whitening followed by home tooth whitening.

I do not recommend the home tooth whitening kits that you can buy on the internet and from the shops as they are usually ineffective and can sometimes cause harm to your teeth and gums. You should see a dental professional for teeth whitening.

Hygiene costs depend on the type of cleaning you want. Simple cleaning costs £35 and the extensive cleaning is £75 at Pearl. All our prices are published on the website under the Fees section.
