Red face DIY teeth whitening did not work

I want to bleach my teeth, but I'm confused about all the different methods that are out there. I have tried the DIY kits that are out there with little results.

I like the idea of the dentist whitening my teeth for an hour or so using zoom tooth whitening system. Home tooth whitening seems to be more effort on my part, and fiddly.

Please let me know about the pros and cons of each teeth whitening method. Also please be aware that I am a smoker, I dont know how that affects teeth whitening results.

Smile DIY teeth whitening did not work

    Hello Lily,

    Thank you for your post.

At Pearl we offer three types of teeth whitening. These include home tooth whitening, zoom tooth whitening and combination tooth whitening. We generally believe DIY teeth whitening kits are not very effective and can sometimes cause irreversible harm to the teeth and gums.

Home tooth whitening at Pearl consists of custom made bleaching trays and Enlighten evolution whitening gel. The advantage of this system is it is effective and results are longer lasting. The disadvantage is it can take upto 2 months to see the best results.

Zoom tooth whitening is the chairside laser whitening procedure. The advantage is it gives an instant whitening improvement however results can fade quicker than in home whitening.

The system we recommend if you are suitable is the combination tooth whitening. This gives you advantages of both home and zoom whitening and hence it is the treatment of choice in my opinion.

Smoking will increase the speed of fading and also for the period of the teeth whitening you should stay away from smoking. In your case you should do more touch-up home whitening to reduce the degree of fading. Hope this helps.
