Will teeth whitening get rid of the white spot on my tooth?

Hi

I have a white spot on my front tooth which I think was on the tooth when it first came into my mouth. The white spot is quite annoying because as its on my front tooth, and it shows up when I smile.

I would like to have teeth whitening and was wondering if teeth whitening could erase this white spot from my front tooth? Which type of teeth whitening would you recommend for this problem?

If teeth whitening cant remove the white spot from my tooth, what other options do I have for removing this white spot?

White spots respond favourably to teeth whitening and I would recommend home teeth whitening. Sometimes initially the white spot will appear more noticeable but after a few weeks of teeth whitening it usually becomes less noticeable as it blends in with the whiter teeth.

Treating white spots is unpredictable and sometimes additional treatment will be necessary. If the teeth whitening is not very successful, we would then advise acid microabrasion. This procedure removes a very superficial layer of the enamel and the white spots become less noticeable. If this treatment is also not very successful then restorative treatments will be necessary. These include composite and porcelain veneers or a simple composite restoration if the white spot is small.
