Could I have teeth whitening with a wire retainer stuck behind my teeth?

Hi

I had a wire retainer fitted behind my front teeth about five years ago and the retainer is basically there to stop my teeth from becoming crowded again and hold them in place.

Can you tell me if I could have teeth whitening with a retainer stuck behind my teeth? If I can have teeth whitening, could I have the combination of zoom teeth whitening and home whitening?

Generally can have all types of teeth whitening with a bonded retainer. Bonded retainers are commonly placed after orthodontic treatment and they serve the purpose of preventing relapse and act as retainers.

Teeth whitening is performed only on the front surface of teeth and wire retainers are bonded to the back surface of teeth.

We need to see you for an assessment before we confirm if you are suitable for zoom whitening and home whitening. If you have healthy teeth and gums and do not have many crowns, veneers or bridges then you are also suitable for combination teeth whitening.
