Chlorine dioxide teeth whitening

I am considering getting my teeth whitened and I have been looking at the various options on offer for teeth whitening. One of the products that I found used by some salons and advertised on their websites was Chlorine dioxide for teeth whitening.

I read some bad reviews about chlorine dioxide, mainly around some problems and issues that some people had with chlorine dioxide teeth whitening and I wonder if you use it in your whitening systems? Are there any better whitening products available?
