I am considering the different teeth whitening treatments that you have available and I have a couple of questions to ask.

1. How long do the results of the different teeth whitening treatments last?

2. How often can I repeat the whitening treatments once the shade fades?

3. Will teeth whitening treatments do any long term damage to teeth?

For most people, the results are long lasting. Exposure to coffees, teas, tobacco, red wines and certain other stain producing substances will eventually darken teeth again over time.

After the initial treatment, I advise my patients to do home touch-ups every 4weeks based on the amount of stain producing substances that they are exposed to. Zoom advanced power laser teeth whitening treatment can be done every 2-5 years.

Safety studies have shown that bleaching teeth using the dentist-prescribed bleaching techniques is perfectly safe on the teeth and gums. Bleaching the teeth with dentist-prescribed kits is equivalent to drinking one fizzy drink. The bleaching material has a neutral pH.
