    Talking Lazer teeth whitening

    Hi

I would like to have my teeth whitened with the lazer teeth whitening system next week. I would like to know how long does the lazer teeth whitening take from start to finish and also how long do the results last?

I suffer from asthma, its under control and I don't get many attacks in the summer months. Could I still have lazer teeth whitening or is my asthma going to create problems for me?

    Thumbs up Lazer teeth whitening

    Dear Savi,

    Thank you for your question.

The zoom laser teeth whitening will take approximately 1 hour and 15mins to complete. This consists of 15mins to prepare and isolate the teeth and 45 mins (3 cycles of 15mins) for application of the bleaching gel.

Zoom laser teeth whitening results will vary depending on many factors. Some of these are:

    1) degree of staining present at the start
    2) structure of the teeth
    3) type of staining present
    4) dietary habits
    5) lifestyle e.g. smoking
    6) patients age

On average zoom whitening results will last from 3 months to 2 years. Straight after the procedure there is a degree of fading due to the minor dehydration of the teeth. Rest assurred by continuing with periodic home whitening treatments or touch-ups your teeth will stay whiter for much longer.

I'm glad to hear your asthma is well controlled. Asthma normally does not stop you from having this procedure however anxiety prior to the procedure can make you feel short of breath. As a precaution please bring your inhalers with you so that if this does arise, it can be controlled with the medication.
