Lightbulb will my teeth become sensitive with Zoom teeth whitening

I am really keen to have my teeth whitened with the Zoom teeth whitening system. Could you tell me if my teeth will become sensitive with Zoom and if they do become sensitive, will it stop after a while?

Also is Zoom teeth whitening capable of whitening my white fillings. I have two white fillings on my front teeth and I wonder if they will become whiter with Zoom whitening and if not, can they be replaced without damaging the teeth?

Question will my teeth become sensitive with Zoom teeth whitening

    Hi,

    Thank you for your post.

One of the commenest side effects of toothwhitening systems is teeth sensitivity.

It is not possible to perdict whether someone will have tooth sensitivity with Zoom whitenig as it varies from person to person. Teeth have different structures, shades and they do not respond in the same way to whitening process.

I have had some patients that nerver felt any discomfort during the Zoom whitening at all and at the same time I have seen patients that could not complete all the cycles as teeth became sensitive. There has been cases that even with home whitening system patients experienced some significant sensitivity (sensitivity is ususally less with home whitening systems but again vary from case to case).

The only way to find out is just to try the zoom whitening and the possibility of suferring from sensitivity should not deter one from having whitening beacuse if teeth become too sensitive then there are ways of dealing with it and trying to manage it.
If teeth become seisitive when whitening your teeth, the effect is transient and stopps after few days and therefore it is not a permanent effect.

Any form of whitening system cannot change the colour of the present restorations in the mouth and if these fillings are visible, then they may have to be replaced after whitening. Having said that it really needs to be seen and assessed clinically and we would be happy to do that for you in a free assessment cosultation.
