1 hour whitening

Hi

I would like to have your 1 hour whitening procedure done as soon as possible. Do I need to have my dentist for checkup and have my teeth cleaned professionally before I have the 1 hour whitening?

Also, is the 1 hour whitening better than the home whitening trays?

Your teeth and gums need to be healthy before you can have the 1 hour whitening treatment. This does not mean you must have a check-up and teeth cleaned professionally however this would be the correct thing to do, as this determins your teeth and gums are healthy or not and importantly they are clean.

I usually advise patients to have their teeth professionally cleaned before doing the whitening as the whitening results will be better. If there are extrinsic stains, plaque or calculus deposits present then they should always be removed first. We can do a check-up and cleaning before the 1 hour whitening treatment at Pearl Dental Clinic.

In my experience home whitening will give better results then 1 hour chairside laser whitening. However each whitening treatment has advantages and disadvantages. For example if you want instant teeth whitening then the 1 hour laser whitening is the treatment of choice. On the other hand if you are prepared to be more patient and gradually achieve whitening results then home whitening works very well. Some people want both these advantages so we do the laser whitening first and after 2 days they start the tray whitening to improve or maintain the whitening results.
