    Cool Yellow canines

    Hi

I started doing home teeth whitening about two weeks ago and have now finished the whitening gel that my dentist gave me at the beginning of the process. However both my top canine teeth still look darker than the rest of my teeth and I was hoping that after teeth whitening all of my front teeth will be very white.

Also I have noticed that near the gum, all of my teeth still appear more yellow in colour than the rest of my teeth. Is this to do with the trays not fitting properly or me not using enough gel. I did try to put more gel in the trays, but it just leaked onto the gum, so I think its more to do with the trays not fitting well. Please advise.

    Lightbulb Yellow canines

    Thank you for your post.

In regards to your canines not whitening, we would suggest seeing your Dentist regarding whether or not there are options available to you to whiten these further. There may be a clinical reason as to why they have not whitened as much as your other teeth.

In regards to your teeth not being whitened just underneath your gum line, this could as you mentioned be due to the teeth whitening trays not fitting correctly. However, we do find that in some cases, even with the best fitting trays it can be difficult to whiten the teeth at the gum boundary.

If you find that teeth whitening is not giving you a desirable result, then you may also want to consider Dental Veneers, which are another way of achieving a white smile.
