Discoloured and patches on teeth

My teeth are discoloured and have always had white patches on them for as long as I remember. My dentist whitened my teeth in his practice using a light system about 6 months ago and I also did a few weeks of whitening at home afterwards with trays.

The whitening improved the discolouration of the teeth a bit but the white patches are still there on most of my front teeth. If anything the white patches are possibly more obvious now.

What can I do to remove these white patches from my teeth?

To remove white patches on teeth, I usually try the following measures in this order:

1. Teeth Whitening. This can sometimes make white patches less obvious. Sound like you have already tried this and it didn't work.

2. Mechanical and Chemical Abrasion. This works well if the white patches are superficial but so effective for multiple deep patches. Unfortunately there is no way of knowing how deep these patches are beforehand but its a procedure worth trying.

3. Veneers/Lumineers. Sometimes if many patches and discoloured teeth exist that don't respond to whitening/abrasion, then this could be the only remaining option.
