    Thumbs down DIY teeth whitening

    Hi

I bought a DIY teeth whitening kit over the internet and tried in on my teeth, it made my teeth so sensitive that I was in agony and had to stop using it. The kit came with a whitening gel which I placed on my teeth. But after about an hour my teeth became very sensitive and the gums around my teeth became white. So I got scared of my gums going all white and washed it all off and after a few days, it went back to normal again but my teeth were still very sensitive for about a week. I was wondering if you use a different teeth whitening gel to the ones on the internet and if your gel also causes gums to go white?

    Smile DIY teeth whitening

Teeth whitening gel must never come into contact with the gum, otherwise it could burn the gum and the gum will become white and even necrotic in that situation. Teeth whitening should always be done under dentist supervision and internet DIY teeth whitening is not recommended because it has the potential to do serious harm to the teeth and gums. We do use a different percentage teeth whitening gel to the ones advertised on the internet mainly due to safety reasons.
