I am unhappy with the color of my teeth?

For years I have been unhappy with the colour of my teeth. A few of my front teeth have been filled over the last few years and these fillings look darker in colour that the rest of my teeth. I have tried using teeth whitening home kits and whitening toothpaste and my teeth still look very dark in colour. I am not sure why teeth whitening kits cant make my teeth any lighter, perhaps my teeth are resistant to teeth whitening. Do I have any options left to get whiter teeth? Can I get my teeth laser whitened in the surgery? Would that help to whiten my teeth?

Teeth whitening can only whiten enamel tooth tissue, it can not whiten dentine, fillings, veneers and crowns. So if you have fillings, they will not whiten with teeth whitening. However you can whiten your natural teeth and then replace the fillings to a lighter shade. Alternative treatment to teeth whitening would be dental veneers.
