Lightbulb IV sedation or Happy gas?

    Hello

I need to have a dental implant done and I am just looking into the different types of sedation available to make the procedure less painful. I know there is IV sedation as well as happy gas available.

i really want to have something that will practically knock me out so that I dont feel anything. Can you tell me which type of sedation would be better for a dental implant?

Red face IV Sedation or Nitrous Oxide (happy gas)

IV sedation and Nitrous Oxide (Happy gas) are both used in dentistry to provide sedation. Nitrous Oxide is more popular as sedation for children and IV sedation for adults.

In my experience, the sedation provided by IV sedation tends to be deeper than Nitrous oxide inhalation sedation. I think the reason for this is that in dentistry, we work with the patients mouth open and the patient can therefore inhale oxygen through their mouth and reduce the effects of nitrous oxide which is also inhaled.

The most effective form of sedation that I have found at Pearl Dental Clinic is IV sedation provided by a specialist anaesthetist. The specialist anaesthetist really knows sedation very well and can provide very deep but safe sedation for the patient. The patients are usually very relaxed during treatment and dont remember anything afterwards. This means that the dentist concentrates on the dentistry only and the anaesthetist concentrates on providing deep sedation for the patient.
