Thumbs up Loose teeth due to bone loss

    Hello

Most of my teeth have become loose over the last few years and now some of them are very loose and now when I am eating. I cant chew very hard because my teeth hurt when I chew harder food.

I have seen my own dentist but he says that there is not much that can be done for these teeth because the bone has been lost and eventually these teeth will all need to be removed and dentures placed.

I would like to know if there is any solution for my teeth and if any treatment can be done under IV sedation because when it comes to dental treatment, I need to have any dental treatment other than checkups done under sedation.

    Many thanks

Default Loose teeth due to bone loss

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

From what you have mentioned and your dentist has explained it appear that there is almost no other option but having you very loose teeth extracted. You can have all your treatment under intravenous sedation in particular the extractions and the first impressions that are needed for a denture. But very likely the rest of your treatment for the completion of the denture can be done without the sedation as it is not as invasive as normal dentistry.
You amy also be able to have bridges but considering the condition of you teeth, as you have explained them, appears less likely. But may be the most important part of your treatment will be periodontal treatment while you are sedated.
