Hello
I have not seen a dentist in over 10 years mainly due to my fear of the dental drill. I find the noises and the vibrations that it makes unbearable and the last time the dentist used the drill on my tooth, I was crying through out the ordeal.
I know that my teeth need to be checked and I will probably need dental work on my teeth. I would like to know if you have any means of doing the dental work without drills or using drills that are less noisy and have less vibrations?

Fear of the drill
Hi,
Thank you for you question.
What I think would be needed to do in your case is first to assess your teeth to see whether any treatments that require drilling is needed. If so although we use some of the most advanced form of drills in dentistry that has minimal noise and vibration, the most effective way of treatment of the teeth still requires some drilling. If any of this is needed in you case then we can offer you treatment under intravenous sedation. Your treatment will be a little more costly but then you do not need to worry about anything else. With the combination drug sedation that you receive in our clinic, we achieve such a fantastic sedation, as confirmed by our previous patients, that you would not even mind the use of pneumatic street drills as you will not be aware of its use. This does not mean we actually use street pneumatic drills but just to give you an idea that how comfortable you will be on the chair when receiving treatment.Dr Vahid Motahar BSc BDS (London) MFDS RCS (England)
