Hi
I need a new top denture because my old denture has become very loose. My problem is that I have a terrible gag reflex that means that every time the impression trays go into my mouth I feel sick and start to heave. Its so bad that I almost cry every time the trays enter the back of my mouth.
My dentist says that if I have IV sedation my gag reflex will be reduced and I should be able to have the impressions taken without feeling sick and throwing up. But unfortunately he does not provide IV sedation at his clinic.
I would like to know if its possible to have a new denture at Pearl under IV sedation. Do you think that the sedation could help me and would I be able to have a new denture made with IV sedation?

IV sedation can reduce the gag reflex and if you find that you gag during impression taking, you could try impression taking with IV sedation. There are other techniques that we could use to reduce your gag reflex. We need to first see you to assess your case and plan your treatment.
