    Question molar tooth

    Hey

I have a molar tooth that has broken down badly. My dentist has recommended extraction of the tooth but she feels that the extraction is going to be a difficult job because there is not much of the tooth left.

I asked my dentist to refer me to the local hospital for the removal of the tooth so that I could be knocked out and not be aware of anything going on, but she says that they don't do that for tooth removals anymore.

I would like to know if I could have IV sedation at Pearl for this molar tooth removal? Is it likely to be a daycase with the IV sedation and would I feel anything at all?

P.S. I rather not feel or remember anything afterwards.

    Smile molar tooth

    Dear Raheem,

    Thank you for your post.

Yes at Pearl we can provide IV sedation for dental extractions. The thought of an extraction can put some people off going to the dentist and they keep putting off the treatment. Unfortunately dental problems do not go away and they need to be faced eventually.

The advantage of IV sedation is that you do not feel or remember much afterwards. For a molar tooth that has broken down badly the treatment is completed in 1 appointment and with 1 IV sedation session. There is a fixed cost for the IV sedation session and it is provided by an experienced anaesthetist, medically qualified.

We have experienced oral surgeons at Pearl so even if there is not much tooth left and the extraction is difficult we can provide a surgical extraction. This will ensure all the tooth is removed with minimal trauma and complications.

Please contact us for a consultation and your treatment will be discussed further.
