Has anything ever gone wrong when you were under anesthesia or sedated?

I had four teeth pulled when I was younger, and I remember the dentist scraped my cheek with his tool and blood subsequently rushed down my throat. I couldn't do very much about it because I was sedated. It was terrifying.
