Fear of Painful Dental Treatment

Hiya

I need a lot of dental treatment after I had an accident last month and chipped three teeth. The emergency dentist patched up these teeth but I know that I need to have crowns and veneers put on these broken teeth. However I have a fear of painful dental treatment and I am terribly worried that one or two of these teeth may need to be root filled or even worst extracted. I have some real horror stories about root fillings and extractions and don't wish to have any pain when these treatments are carried out. I was thinking about getting the light IV sedation but do you think I will be better off with the deeper IV sedation taking into account my level of dental anxiety.

Both types of IV sedation significantly reduce anxiety. Dont forget we always use local anaesthetic as well so there will be no pain involved with any of the treatments that you mentioned. As to which type of sedation you prefer to have, it depends on your wishes and your medical history.
