Question Will I feel any pain with IV sedation?

    Hi

I have two wisdom teeth that are in a very bad condition and need to be removed. My dentist says that he cant do these extractions, because they are very difficult and the hospital want to give me a general anaesthetic for these extractions.

I am scared of being put under and rather be awake but dont want to feel any pain during these extractions. With IV sedation, am I likely to feel any pain?

I understand with IV sedation, I will be awake, are there occasions when the IV sedation goes so deep that I become unconscious? I would like to avoid that scenario and would rather know that in advance.

Cool Will I feel any pain with IV sedation?

    Thank you for your question.

With IV sedation, we will keep you conscious through out and at no point, it will become unconscious sedation.

You will also be given local anaesthetic, so at no point you will have any pain during the treatment. Should any pain arise, the anaesthetic will be topped up to stop the pain immediately.
