Question Wisdom tooth extraction with sedation

    Hello

I have been told by my dentist that my wisdom tooth needs come out because it has become so rotten and cant be filled anymore. I normally have my fillings done with sedation but never have had teeth removed with sedation.

I am so worried that the sedation that will finish too early and I wake up with the dentist still pulling on my wisdom tooth, because I understand that wisdom tooth extractions can take a long time before they come out.

Is it possible if you could tell me if wisdom teeth extractions can be done with stronger sedation than normal IV sedation? Is it likely that I might feel pain and could I have something stronger like deeper sedation?

Wink Wisdom tooth extraction with sedation

    Thank you for your question.

Wisdom tooth extractions can be done painlessly with multi-drug IV sedation which can work for hours if needed. We have had cases of complex treatments which have taken 3-4 hours and we have managed to do them compeletly painlessly with multi drug deep IV sedation.

Complex Wisdom teeth extractions can be done painlessly with deep IV sedation and local anaesthetic without worries about pain during the procedure.
