Can I catch a flight after root canal treatment?

Hello

I have a tooth that is badly broken down and I have known for a few weeks that the tooth needs a root canal filling but I have been to busy to get it done.

I am flying to spain on Sunday and would like to know if I have the root canal treatment on Friday, would I be able to fly to Spain on Sunday?

I have heard that with root canal treatment there can be problems with flights afterwards. If so, could you tell me what sort of problems I should expect if I decide to go through the root canal filling on Friday.

Thank you for your question.

There is no reason for you not being able to fly couple of days after you root canal treatment. Sometimes there is problem with root canal treatments and there can be associated pain and discomfort and very rare cases some swelling. But these are all dependent to the situation and in general they do not happen that often.
So you should be able to fly and if there is a small risk of post treatment complication due to the status of the tooth, you can always take some back up plans and treatment options like antibiotic courses and some pain killers. In fact I suggest ver much to do your root canal before you go on holiday because what will you do if your pain starts or exacerbate while you are away?
