Default How much does a crown cost?

Hello, I would just like to know how much a crown costs for a root canal filling? Also, do you think a crown is always necessary because I am concerned about the upkeep costs for a new one every couple of years. I need a root canal on one of my back teeth and I’m not all that bothered about it looking great if it is at the back of my mouth, is there an alternative to an expensive crown? Thank you

    Thank you for your post.

A crown is normally required for a posterior tooth after root canal treatment because heavy bite forces are placed on those teeth and without a crown, they may fracture or leak and cause root canal failure. Some people do just have large fillings placed on root filled teeth and dont have a crown, but this will be at your own risk. The cost of crowns is between £395 and £545.
