Talking What is the best type of crown?

    Hi

I had a root canal on my one from the back lower tooth about a month ago and the dentist told me that because my tooth is now root treated it will need a crown. He offered a white or gold crown as my crown options for this tooth. The white crown is likely to cost a little more than the gold crown but the difference is small and so I wanted to know what would be the best type of crown for my tooth? Are there any difference in the quality and lifespan of dental crowns?

    Thank you for your advice.

There are many different types of crowns such as gold crowns, metal ceramic crowns, all zirconium crowns, all ceramic crowns, ... Each type of crown has certain plus and minus points. Gold crowns for example are the ones least likely to fracture but cosmetically do not look natural. All ceramic crowns are the most natural looking dental crown but also the one most likely to fracture on a molar tooth. The quality of the crown depends on the skill of the dentist, technician and the quality of the materials used.
