After care instructions after root canal treatment

Hi

I had root canal treatment on my back tooth yesterday and the procedure went very well. I have not have any pain afterwards so far and I did not even have any pain during the procedure yesterday.

I forgot to ask the dentist about after care instuctions for me to follow after root canal treatment and would be grateful if you could let me what I should do and avoid doing to prevent any problems after my root canal treatment.

After root canal treatment you should avoid exerting excess pressure on the tooth that has been root filled to avoid tooth fracture. You should keep the tooth as clean as you can by having excellent oral hygiene.

You may need to take pain killers if pain arises after the root canal treatment. You will need to see your dentist for a root canal review and decision on when to crown the tooth.
